Why you have NO idea what's possible when you believe, trust, and take aligned action
The question we avoid: "What do I really want?"
From helping individuals find clarity to helping organizations

Before we get into it...
I want to acknowledge that it is a very scary time right now. I live in Minneapolis, and it’s crazy what is happening in our city. I made this post on LinkedIn yesterday with links to many resources. Aligned action matters. Your voice matters.
Ok….so in full transparency, I wrote this on Jan 1st…and debated about sharing amidst all the things. But after reading it several times, I’m like - ok, I just got to share my heart. And I’ve always been straight with you. So here goes a big reflection from my heart to yours. Truly, truly, thank you for the opportunity to share. I do not take this lightly.
My Jan 1, 2026 Reflection...
Showing up to write for you every week for the past 100 weeks has provided more growth than I EVER could have imagined. If you know, you know.
Some of you know me really well and some of you I’ve never met. This newsletter has exploded from 0 to 1200 people in 2 years! While it’s fun to look at stats, it’s honestly not about that. It’s about showing up + being consistent. I just want to begin by saying thank you. Because of you, I committed to showing up.
What has transpired over the last 24 months, especially the last 12, has been the biggest up level of my entire life, both personally and professionally.
When you launch a book into the world, you confront all the different pieces of yourself and question whether you really want to put yourself out there. There have been times when I’ve wanted to crawl into a hole and just not come out. And there have been times when I have felt the greatest joy knowing that I am truly living my purpose.
In that spirit, I want to be honest and share the BIGGEST lesson I’ve learned on this journey so far:
You have NO idea what’s possible when you believe, trust, and take aligned action.
When you decide to pursue your truest, most authentic self - watch out. Events that seem like miracles will unfold. You cannot even predict all the goodness that will enter your life, your career, your relationships, and your bank account when you follow your energy and trust. People and opportunities appear that become “choiceless”.
One of those “choiceless” things that appeared for me last year was a business accelerator program. I am an entrepreneur at heart and desire to have several businesses that impact the lives of millions. If I believe that’s actually possible (it took me 43 years to actually believe that, btw…more on that later), I knew I needed next-level accountability, systems, processes, and people to lay a foundation to build upon.
When I first said this out loud (the part about being able to impact millions of lives), I laughed at myself, saying, “Who are you, Laura, to think that you could impact millions of people?” But then…reflecting on the last 12 months. Miracle after miracle…
Prayed for help launching my book. Ended up meeting my business partner.
Prayed for help in creating a website which led to getting the attention of the CEO of Level-Up Creators, the accelerator I’m now enrolled in.
Prayed that my book Shine Brighter would impact the lives of 300 people…sold ~700 copies in the first 6 months, and have two VERY big keynotes booked for 2026 that will spread the book to 1000+
Point being, when you pray for something, desire something, want something… stay open. You might be surprised what shows up.
So why am I telling you all this?
Well, I have had enough conversations to know many of us are tired of our lives. We want more joy, more energy, more LIFE.
So maybe… the first step is to ask yourself this question: What do I really want?
Not what you think you should want. Not what your peers expect. Not what would impress your friends. What do YOU want?
I told myself that “I just don’t know” for YEARS… because it was easier for me to follow what others expected of me than to get quiet and sit with my truth.
The pressure of expectations makes this question terrifying… Because it’s way easier to chase achievement than to sit with your truth.
I lost so much time. And if I had listened to the mentors in my life, I might have saved myself that time and heartache.
So, what is a dream you’d like to make a reality?
If you have kids, or maybe you’re a mentor to someone, and they say, “Maybe it’s just easier to give up and just settle…” - what would you say to them?
Would I tell my son that his dreams don’t matter? No, I would never do that.
Your dreams, big or small, are your dreams because they’re supposed to come into reality. That’s the fun part about life. Every single person has different interests, passions, and personalities. We all have different dreams. And they shift as we experience life.
A year ago, I set out to help professionals figure out what they want to be when they grow up. Career clarity + high performance coaching, which resulted in helping 6 pros launch Fractional businesses, 4 new businesses, and several promotions…
And now? What’s emerged from the Level-Up experience (let me know if you want an introduction….they’re kicking off the next cohort in 6 weeks) is that I am excited to impact ORGANIZATIONS.
Because here’s what I kept hearing on repeat:
“We need to do more with less.”
“Our team is stretched thin.”
“Everyone’s hitting their numbers but they’re exhausted.”
For two decades as an executive recruiter, you confided in me… the real stuff. What was really going on in your companies.
I could see the pattern within minutes: High performers burning out. Leaders firefighting constantly. Teams hitting targets purely through unsustainable grind. And this is all changing. Through my work with unlok human potential, we’re proving that you can get MORE out of your people without burning them out.
How? By helping you see what's actually slowing your team down—then fixing it. The unclear decisions that create bottlenecks. The missing ownership that leaves everyone waiting. The systems that make simple things complicated. You get more from your current team. Without the burnout. Without adding headcount.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for being on this journey with me. I promise to pack in as much value as I can. Tell you what I’m learning, new connections I’m learning from, and new opportunities to work together.
Bottom line, you matter. So very much. At this time in history, we need you to be the best leader you can be. Leading yourself. Leading your families. Leading your teams. But we can’t do it alone. Feeling connected to other humans is how we’ll continue to summon the very best of us.
Thank you for being the best you can be. This is what we pass on to our kids and the next generation.
I have NO idea what I’ll be sharing 12 months from now. Have some ideas, but if 2025 taught me anything… it will be even better than I can imagine.
Believe + trust + aligned action…
Pass it on!
With belief in your magnificence,
Laura
